"Covering College Football Coaching from Miami to Honolulu"

ABOUT COACHES HOT SEAT

Coaches Hot Seat was founded in January 2007 by a group of college football fans in the San Francisco Bay area that clearly had more time on their hands than they knew what to do with.  We all love the game of college football and have been keenly interested in the head football coaches at our various alma maters over the years, and we thought there wasn't enough focus on the records, salaries, and issues surrounding coaches that are on the Hot Seat.  What does a coach being on the Hot Seat mean to us?  We define being on the Hot Seat as the coach with the most pressure on him at any given moment, not only if a coach is on the verge of getting fired.  A coach can certainly be under tremendous pressure and on the Hot Seat and still have job security, but most coaches that end up on our Hot Seat as promulgated in our Coaches Hot Seat Rankings are either under tremendous pressure to win football games or are teetering on the edge of being fired.  In addition to providing information, win/loss records, salaries, biographical info, etc.,  on college head football coaches, we also have put together Coaches Hot Seat to be a central point of information or portal for the game of college football.  In the end Coaches Hot Seat was designed to be a place where we could turn daily to find information on the game of college football and also a place where we could have a lot of fun following this great game.

The Coaches Hot Seat Ranking is a ranking of all 119 Division I-A football coaches on how they stand relative to their current situation, and relative to their peers.  The Coaches Hot Seat Ranking is based on several factors, including:

1.  Career and School Win/Loss Records

2.  Booster and Fan feelings towards the Coach and Football Program

3.  Expectations at the School

4.  Board of Trustees, President, Athletic Director's feelings toward the Coach

5.  Local Media's Attitude towards the Coach and Football Program

6.  Current Salary and Buyout

7.  Recent Recruiting Classes

8.  Length of Time at School

9.  Coach's Ties to School and Local Community

10.  2008 Schedule

In addition there are several other minor factors that go into compiling the Coaches Hot Seat Ranking.

The Coaches Hot Seat Ranking will be updated weekly every Monday morning throughout the year, and as conditions warrant.

In summary, Coaches Hot Seat is committed to covering college football coaching from Miami to Honolulu.  Our goal is to bring to our readers all of the daily news from the college coaching scene, college football news, and to also provide a place to find relevant information on current college football coaches with a focus on NCAA Divsion I-A.  In addition Coaches Hot Seat will publish the Coaches Hot Seat Blog, which will bring you the latest news on college coaching along with the opinion of Coaches Hot Seat of the days happenings.  Enjoy!
