NEW BUSINESS MODEL FOR COACHES HOT SEAT BEGINNING ON APRIL 1, 2011 - PLEASE READ BELOW FOR DETAILS ON THIS NEW BUSINESS MODEL FOR BOTH CURRENT AND NEW SUBSCRIBERS TO COACHES HOT SEAT

April 1, 2010

New Coaches Hot Seat Business Model Change Date – April 1, 2011

No, this is not an April Fool’s Joke!  Since the fall of 2008 when Coaches Hot Seat moved to a “Subscriber” based business model we have always thought that if we could ever find a way to operate CHS without subscribers and just as a “Free” website on the Internet that would be available to all we would take a hard look at moving back to the “Free” model that we first started out with on the Internet.  In the last 12 to 18 months we have been offered several different opportunities that would allow us to move back to a completely “Free” business model again, including:

1.  Offers from companies to advertise on the main Coaches Hot Seat webpage if that page was available to the general public that would generate enough advertising revenue to offset current “Subscriber” revenue.

2.  A partnership type of agreement that would allow us to work with a large media company that could provide more resources, website traffic, and revenue to Coaches Hot Seat.

3.  Even a company that has offered to purchase Coaches Hot Seat and a few of our other website names in the “Hot Seat” category and let us continue to operate the website as it now run.

With that in mind we have decided to begin the process of moving back to a “Free” based business model where Coaches Hot Seat would be open to everyone without having subscribers and we are now targeting April 1, 2011 (Don’t say we don’t plan ahead!) as the date we would move from the current “Subscriber” business model back to our old model that would be available to all for “Free.”

The new “Free” based business model for Coaches Hot Seat will change over from the current “Subscriber” based model on April 1, 2011

One of the main reasons we are moving back to a “Free” business model is that we have become convinced that we could generate as much or more website traffic and thus revenue than what our current “Subscriber” model does which would also allow us for the first time to hire someone that….GASP!....would work full-time at Coaches Hot Seat!  In the 3 plus years since Coaches Hot Seat was first put up on the Internet in January 2007 we have used part-time college students to update the news stories on the website and the internal members at CHS have been responsible for managing the subscribers, keeping the website/hosting in order, and doing the Editorial on the Coaches Hot Seat Blog.  From what we have been able to gather talking to potential paid advertisers (we have never taken paid advertising at CHS to date) and discussing the amount of revenue we would generate with a “Free” business model we would be able to hire on 1 or even 2 full-time employees that would make CHS more like the other Blog and Content college football websites on the Internet.

Also, the spring of 2011 is a time when a couple of the internal Coaches Hot Seat members have been targeting for a number of years to take very early retirement after working hard for a long time in the same industry and that would thus give Coaches Hot Seat 1 or 2 full-time employees and a couple of CHS members that could actually dedicate time “during the working day” that would provide a lot more oomph to the Coaches Hot Seat website.

The reasons that we are waiting until April 1, 2011 to move to this new "Free" business model for Coaches Hot Seat are that:  1.  We have just decided in the last couple of weeks to move back to a "Free" business model for the website and we are determined to serve our current subscribers until their subscriptions run out; 2. We need at least a year to do the many things that we would like to update and add to the Coaches Hot Seat website and to build out our hosting capability for the increased web traffic; 3.  We did not want to take paid advertising from third-party companies, partner with a media company, or agree to be purchased by a company while we are operating a "Subscriber" based business model because we place a high value on our "Subscribers" and their privacy.  The next year will give us time to update and improve the Coaches Hot Seat website, wind down the "Subscriber" based business model and to scrub our "Subscriber" info from CHS as we bring that business model to an end and before we establish any relationships with third-party businesses outside of Coaches Hot Seat.

Therefore, Coaches Hot Seat is announcing that 1 year from today, April 1, 2011 is when we will move from the current “Subscriber” based business model back to the “Free” model that will be open to everyone in the general public.  If you are a current subscriber to Coaches Hot Seat and your subscription expires sometime between today and April 1, 2011 we will invoice you just like we have done in the past but we will prorate your “Subscriber Fee” for the number of months between when your subscription expires and April 1, 2011.  For example:  We have a large number of “Subscribers” that have CHS subscriptions expiring on July 31, 2010 and when we get closer to that date we will be sending out a new invoice that will be for 8 Months (August 1, 2010 to April 1, 2011) instead of 12, or $13.32 instead of our normal $20.00 - 12 Month subscription period.

For NEW SUBSCRIBERS to Coaches Hot Seat instead of “Signing Up” in the white box under the Coaches Hot Seat Chair Photo just email us at info@coacheshotseat.com and we will send you out an invoice that will bill for the appropriate amount of time left between when you signed up and April 1, 2011.

We look forward to a great 2010 college football season and moving forward in 2011 as we take advantage of the Coaches Hot Seat brand that we have built up over the past 3 plus years and move into a new period in the history of this website.

Summary:  Coaches Hot Seat will remain as a “Subscriber” based website from today until April 1, 2011 when we will move back to a “Free” business model that will again be available to the entire public.

If you have any questions about this change at Coaches Hot Seat or anything else just send your questions/comments to info@coacheshotseat.com

Thanks,

Coaches Hot Seat

OLD  COACHES HOT SEAT SUBSCRIPTION INFO

Hello to all dedicated visitors to Coaches Hot Seat.  In the past month the members of Coaches Hot Seat have decided to both make a committed effort to operating the Coaches Hot Seat website into the future and to find a way to balance our personal and business (our real day jobs) lives and we have begun to invest in both personnel and the infrastructure that will allow Coaches Hot Seat to go forward in a productive manner.  A couple of weeks back we asked for donations from the visitors to Coaches Hot Seat and although we are thankful to everyone that donated to our website we did not take in enough donations to do the kind of things we both need and want to do to keep up the standards we have set for Coaches Hot Seat up to this point (*For those of you that did donate please see note below).  We have been live on the Internet since January 2007 and as the devoted followers of Coaches Hot Seat know we go full bore 365 days a year both working very hard to find news stories from around the country on the game of college football and college head coaches, but we also work hard to bring together information on coaches and the game of college football in one place that cannot be found elsewhere on the Internet.  In order for us to produce the type and quality of website that we have done up to this point, we have decided to move to a subscription based model that will involve one annual fee, with an annual subscription fee to be $20 US dollars that will give one person access to Coaches Hot Seat for 12 Months from SignupFor new visitors to Coaches Hot Seat, when you go to subscribe to our website you will be given a 2 day trial period where you can try out Coaches Hot Seat for two days for free to see if the website meets your needs and if it is worth spending your hard earned dollars on.

You can sign up for full access to Coaches Hot Seat, including the daily Coaches Hot Seat News stories updates (we now have hired enough people to have the Coaches Hot Seat desk manned 18 to 20 hours every day), the Coaches Hot Seat Rankings, the Coaches Hot Seat Blog, the Winningest Active Coaches I-A and lots of other Coaches Hot Seat content along with links and daily information from around the world of college football.  We certainly know that a lot of people visit Coaches Hot Seat everyday to find in one place information that they cannot find elsewhere in one place on the Internet and we work very hard at Coaches Hot Seat each day to make sure that the Coaches Hot Seat News stories section is reliably always there and constantly updated for the website visitors.
